What is causing this lump while smiling after tear trough Belotero filler?
Belotero Balance cannot last 3 years
Dec 6, 2019
Thank you for posting your photos and question to the forum! Do you know what type of Belotero filler you received? If it is Belotero Balance (the filler used for tear troughs 99% of the time) this cannot be from filler as too much time has passed and Balance only lasts about 6-9 months.
Belotero results in tear trough – Are results immediate?
Yes the results are immediate, but…
Dec 4, 2019
Thank you for an excellent question! In our office we use Belotero everyday for tear troughs. Your Belotero tear trough results will be immediate. What you see is what you get when you leave your appointment. However, Belotero is a filler that attracts substantial water which will cause swelling afterwards. This swelling is mild, but I have seen it persist up to 3 weeks. So technically, it does take 10-21 days to appreciate the final result of Belotero.
If I had a delayed onset reaction to HA fillers in cheeks, does this mean I will always have a reactio
There is a risk of recurrent delayed reactions
May 10, 2019
The short answer is: it depends on what type of delayed-reaction you had. If your provider suspects a granuloma reaction, this means there is a film of bacteria irreversibly bound to the filler, and until the filler is completely removed (or metabolized), the bacteria will not be eliminated either. Until the filler is fully metabolized/dissolved, these types of granuloma reactions will always run the risk of being reactivated by future repeat punctures…
Is it possible to get a narrower chin (not the jaw) with Botox?
Botox in the chin muscle (mentalis muscle)
Mar 14, 2019
Yes! The “mentalis” muscle on the tip of your chin always slightly elevates the skin of your chin. If you relax this muscle with Botox/Xeomin/Dypsort, you can achieve a small extension of the chin downwards, creating more of a V contour. You will see the full result in about 2 weeks and if more narrowing is desired, you can add a syringe or 2 of filler here as well. (I prefer Voluma for the chin).
What type of provider should I go to for dermal fillers?
Go to a provider who does filler all day, everyday
Mar 14, 2019
Hello! This is an excellent question and you are very smart to do your research on what makes a good filler injector beforehand. Regardless of whether the injector is a doctor, surgeon, nurse, nurse practitioner, or physician assistant, it is best to go to someone who does filler all day everyday. Filler is a game of practice, and the more you do, the better you are at it.
Try and get a feel for how your provider spends his/her day. Ask yourself these…
