Skin Cancer? Can someone help me Identify if it is?
What to do for a “Growth”
Nov 21, 2015
Greetings. Not certain what your “growth” is … but if it’s concerning you, you should have it biopsied at a minimum … but due to its persistence and recurrence over time, I would recommend excisional biopsy (complete removal).A Board certified Dermatologist could biopsy it for you and refer you to a Board certified Plastic Surgeon for definitive wide local excision if cancerous.Best of luck to you and have a nice Thanksgiving,Dr. Morse
Is extreme pain after MOHs surgery normal?
Pain 8 days after Moh’s
Nov 15, 2015
Greetings:Everyone has different thresholds of pain … even the same person from procedure to procedure may experience different levels of discomfort and frank pain. In my experience while you may have some lingering discomfort a full week after any excision, it is unlikely an uncomplicated procedure should lead to significant pain 8 days after surgery. I obviously don’t know your medical history, the depth or extent of the surgery, or how your surgeon handles his/her…
How to cure cleft lip?
Cleft Lip Revision at age 20
Nov 15, 2015
Greetings:The short answer to your question is yes. It is important that you are evaluated and treated by a Board Certified PLASTIC Surgeon who has experience with cleft revision surgery.Generally speaking, in most cases either a revision utilizing the original scars/incisions can be performed with significant improvement in the appearance of your upper lip, but on occasion a more involved local flap may be required. Please go to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (asps.org)…
Bilateral lowerlid blepharoplasty thru external incision with fat repositioning & release of adhere
Lower Eyelid Laxity 2 Weeks Post Op
Sep 19, 2015
Greetings. Your question is an excellent one although predictable and often the surgeon performing these types of operations will anticipate these concerns and explain them before surgery to allay your early post-operative fears. As the other responder mentioned, at two weeks it is much too early to ascertain the final outcome of your blepharoplasty with respect to the eventual level of your lower eyelids. Due to swelling and muscle weakness it often takes many weeks to months to resolve and…
Congenital ptosis repair & risk at the age 25?
Pyrosis Repair & Complications
Sep 5, 2015
I’m not sure what “6/6” refers to … … but if you have ptosis repair in the U.S. by a Board Certified Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon (American Board of Plastic Surgery) or Ophthamologist (American Board of Ophthalmology) who is experienced in ptosis surgery, while you may require multiple procedures most often one is sufficient. Also although partial or complete vision loss is possible, the significantly more likely suboptimal outcomes include residual ptosis and asymmetry of the…
Age 35. Botox or hyaluronic acid around the eyes?
Botox
Aug 30, 2015
Good morning.Botox is the best product to inject in the peri-orbital area to help diminish chronic movement induced lines. The appropriate fillers would be a better choice for your peri-oral, nasabial and marionette lines. Good skin care As you are doing is an important adjunct and a lower eyelid TCA or other peel would also be a possibility you should ask your Dermatologist and/or Board certified Plastic Surgeon about.
