More on the types of liposuction

Traditional liposuction. The layer of subcutaneous fat in the right area is destroyed and removed with cannulas and vacuum suction through small (1-2 cm) incisions on the skin.

Tumescent liposuction. A special Klein solution is injected into a local area consisting of lidocaine, adrenaline and the proper saline solution. Klein solution intensively affects the fat tissue for 20-40 minutes, for which the fatty tissue is diluted. This greatly facilitates its removal through the cannula and reduces trauma.

Ultrasonic liposuction. Previously, the ultrasound affects on the area of the operation, which destroys the fat cells, tearing them from within and simultaneously heating the tissues. Emulsified fat tissue is removed through the incisions using a cannula and a vacuum pump. The main drawback of this type of ultrasound liposuction is the influence of ultrasound not only on fatty tissue, but also on internal organs, which can cause them to be injured.

Syringe liposuction. Such liposuction corrects the non-essential problem areas when it comes to removing a small amount of adipose tissue (up to 0.5 liters). Removal of fat tissue through the syringe and takes much more time than conventional liposuction. But there are situations when a worthy aesthetic result can be provided only by syringe liposuction.

For example, if a patient has thin skin and a thin fat layer underneath, a powerful vacuum will leave too visible traces in the place of the “passage” of the cannula. In such a case, only very gentle pressure, which is created by a syringe, is possible. The syringe helps to suck fat in small doses – the doctor leaves the skin relief as smooth and smooth as possible.

Water jet liposuction. It is considered a relatively low-traumatic method of eliminating excess adipose tissue and allows the use of local anesthesia. Under the skin through the puncture, the same cannula is inserted. Further, under pressure, a liquid is supplied through the cannula and then the vacuum pump evacuates the fluid washed out by the fluid jet and the liquid residues.

Radiofrequency liposuction. The so-called “novelty”. The principal difference from other species is that radiofrequency energy is used to break down adipose tissue. Two electrodes are used here – internal and external. The internal electrode is placed in the fat layer, serves also as a tube for fat suction, a temperature sensor.

Laser liposuction. Removal of adipose tissue occurs with a special cannula with a built-in laser. The disadvantages of this type can be attributed the advisability of using only small amounts of fat to be removed.

Vibration liposuction. The main feature of this vacuum cannula produces short rotational movements. Such liposuction requires less effort from the plastic surgeon, and a large amount of fat can be removed.

In each case, the type of liposuction is selected individually. In our experience, the most sparing kinds of liposuction is the traditional, tumen, syringe. Because with a certain skill of the surgeon they are the least traumatic, other types of liposuction, as a rule, are more traumatic, remaining effective even in inept hands.
