Liposuction in Beaverton is a method of correction of face and body, it is used to eliminate excess fatty deposits.

A surplus of adipose tissue is removed through a special tube that is placed in the subcutaneous space. For the first time officially liposuction was carried out in 1974 in Italy.

Despite a wide variety of liposuction methods, they all have a single principle: through a special tube (called a cannula) that is placed in the subcutaneous space, excess fat is removed from the pressure created by the special apparatus.

The main types of liposuction:

Standard Liposuction

It has two modifications: dry and wet.

The standard “dry” liposuction should be understood as its classical version, the one that was proposed by the ancestor of the method – the Roman doctor Fisher in 1974.

The essence of the method is quite simple: through small incisions (up to 0.5 cm), a cannula with one or more apertures at the end is inserted into the subcutaneous space.

The diameter of the cannula depends on the volume and location of the fat being removed, as well as on the choice of the surgeon.

Currently, it is commonly believed that the cannula with a diameter of 0.3 to 0.5 cm has the smallest traumatic effect. As a rule, straight cannulas are used, but in some cases preference can be given to the curved canula.

The other end of the cannula is connected to a vacuum device that creates a negative pressure, which ensures the removal of fat.

Fan-shaped introduction of the cannula with translational movements (forward-backward) provides two simultaneous processes – mechanical destruction of adipose tissue and vacuum aspiration. The operation is under general anesthesia.

It is believed that the standard method is the most traumatic method among other types of liposuction, since it achieves the greatest damage to soft subcutaneous tissues with appropriate blood loss. Therefore, the volume of fat removed is rather limited and, according to different authors, should not exceed 1-3 liters.

“Wet” liposuction in Beaverton differs from “dry” only in that the area of operation is pre-scorched by a solution of a local anesthetic. However, this method should not be confused with tumescent liposuction, where the preliminary infiltration is performed by a special solution.

The operation lasts usually from 30 minutes to several hours, depending on which part of the body it is on, and on the amount of fat removed.

Tumescent liposuction

Tumescent liposuction is currently the most common in most developed countries. The reason for this popularity is less blood loss and tissue traumatization during surgery and, as a result, a reduction in the recovery period.

The essence of the method lies in the preliminary infiltration (chipping) of the operation zone with a special formulation (Klein solution) containing adrenaline, lidocaine and physiological saline. After infiltration, a certain exposure time (20-40 minutes) must pass, during which the fatty tissue seems to thin out and therefore is removed more easily. Postoperative period does not differ from that with standard liposuction.

Ultrasonic liposuction

The essence of the method is that the fat is removed with the help of ultrasonic waves, while neighboring tissues are not subjected to any destructive effect due to the denser internal structure.

After treatment with ultrasonic waves, the subcutaneous fat is converted into a liquid emulsion, which is removed by a vacuum method.

Depending on the level of medical equipment used, the ultrasound method involves the sequential or simultaneous use of a device that allows the removal of fat from the abdomen or thighs.

An obligatory component is the preliminary introduction into the zone of action of ultrasonic waves of a special Klein solution.

In recent years, laser ultrasound liposuction has been used. Ultrasound selectively destroys fatty tissues, practically without damaging the skin.

The size of the applied punctures on the skin is less than two millimeters.

Contraindications for the operation to remove fat:

coagulation disorders;
diabetes;
Endocrine obesity;
marked violations of the liver and kidneys;
stomach ulcer;
varicose veins in the area of the proposed operation, thrombophlebitis;
heart defects with defects of interatrial or interventricular septum;
severe arterial hypertension;
oncological diseases.

According to APRS (American Association of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons), the following complications are possible in patients undergoing liposuction:

Hyperesthesia (increased, painful sensitivity) of the operation area – 2.6%;
seroma (accumulation of serous fluid, which is an aqueous constituent of the blood) – 1.6%;
Edema – 1.4%;
Pigmentation – 1%;
chronic pain syndrome – 1%;
Postoperative hematoma – 0.8%;
septic phenomena – 0.6%;
necrosis of the operating zone – 0.2%.

At the same time, the American Association of Alastic Surgery notes that the mortality rate of patients after liposuction is 1 case per 5,000 operations.

One of the causes of death after liposuction is fat embolism. This complication is the penetration of fatty blood clots into the bloodstream and getting them into the vital organs – the lungs, the kidneys of the brain.
