Liposuction And Tummy Tuck Before And After Pictures
View before and after photos of a tummy tuck procedure with liposuction performed by various plastic surgeons.
Liposuction is generally used for those that want to remove fat in parts of the body that have tight skin.
This means the hips, flanks and saddleback areas. When it comes to fat in the abdominal area, the skin there often loses its elasticity due to age, pregnancy or weight gain.
Abdominoplasty or Tummy Tuck is used to get rid of extra skin, fat and is also used to tighten muscles that have been stretched out through weight gain or pregnancy.
Tightening both the skin and muscles is the key focus with a tummy tuck.
The choice between only liposuction / Liposuction with tummy tuck/ only tummy tuck will entirely depend on your body. If you have only fat excess with a very good skin quality and muscle tone you can opt for only liposuction.
If there is excess fat with skin laxity and poor muscle tone then liposuction with tummy tuck is the option. If only muscle weakness with skin excess then tummy tuck should be considered.
Usually the Tummy Tuck (abdominoplasty) will help eliminate the excess skin and stretch marks from the belly button down. Also will help correct the diastasis recti (separation of central abdominal muscles) but it does not fully eliminate the fat outside from the anterior trunk (belly).
The Liposuction will help eliminate the excess fat on the areas and help sculpt your body. If feasible, is better to combine both to obtain a better result.
The traditional tummy tuck just removes the extra skin but not the fat, while liposuction removes the fat but leaves the skin. In the past it was thought that you had to do these at different times.
The traditional abdominoplasty separates the skin from the blood vessels underneath it as part of the surgery, which then makes it unsafe to remove the extra fat at the same time. However, as our understanding of the anatomy improved, new techniques have been developed that allow me to liposuction the entire abdomen while also getting rid of the excess skin.
With the “lipoadominoplasty” you can create a thin and smooth contour from the ribs all the way down to the mons area without the usual hump that lies just above the scar of a traditional abdominoplasty.
At the same time, surgeon can liposuction the flanks or sides to create that beautiful hourglass shape. After pregnancy women often get separation of their abdominal muscles called “rectus diastasis” that gives a bloated and rounded shape to their abdomen even if they do not have excess fat.
The lipoabdominoplasty technique allows me to fix the muscles as well, and all without the placement of a drain.
