Indianapolis Liposuction Prices

Liposuction in Indianapolis is a plastic surgery that is performed to correct the contour of the body and is aimed at removing excess fat deposits in the “problem” areas.

Our plastic surgeons perform liposuction on different parts of the body. It should be noted that this operation is very popular not only among women, but also among men. More and more often, representatives of the strong half of humanity address with the purpose to remove excess fat in problem areas.

Liposuction is the removal of fat deposits from areas indicated by the patient through the cannula – a special suction tube of small diameter by a vacuum pump.

A little history and facts about liposuction

25 Year Old Man Treated With Liposuction With Doctor Jeffrey D. Wagner, MD, Indianapolis Plastic Surgeon

The popularity of liposuction in the whole world is confirmed by specific data. Currently, plastic surgeons perform over 450,000 surgeries for pumping excess fat per year.

The first such operation was carried out 40 years ago – in 1974. Modern methods have been significantly improved over the past period of time, and today surgical manipulations in the process of liposuction are associated with lower risks to health and less pain.

Features of the liposuction

When removing fat by liposuction, even on large areas, there are practically no traces of the operation (or barely discernible). The operation is well tolerated and, with further observance of the surgeon’s recommendations, gives a lasting and lasting result.

Liposuction can be performed as a separate operation or in combination with other aesthetic operations – for example, together with mastopexy (breast reduction) or abdominoplasty. In addition, liposuction can also be performed immediately in several problem areas.

The time of the operation is from 1 to 3 hours – depending on the number of zones and the volume of fat removed. If you want to adjust several zones at once, the operation, accordingly, will take more time.

Types of liposuction

Traditional. The layer of subcutaneous fat in the right area is destroyed and removed with the help of cannulas and vacuum suction through small (1-2 cm) incisions on the skin.

Tumescent. A special solution of Klein is injected into the local area, consisting of lidocaine, adrenaline and the proper saline solution. Klein’s solution intensively affects the fat tissue for 20-40 minutes, for which the fatty tissue is diffluenced. This greatly facilitates its removal through the cannula and reduces trauma.

Ultrasound. Previously, ultrasound is applied to the operation area, which destroys the fat cells, tearing them from inside and simultaneously warming the tissues. Emulsified fat tissue is removed through the incisions with the help of a cannula and a vacuum pump. The main drawback of this type of ultrasound liposuction is the influence of ultrasound not only on fatty tissue, but also on internal organs, which can cause them to be injured.

Syringe liposuction. This kind of liposuction is not corrected the volumetric problem areas when it comes to the removal of a small amount of adipose tissue (up to0.13 gallon). Removal of adipose tissue is carried out through a syringe and takes much longer than normal liposuction. But there are situations where only a syringe liposuction can provide a decent aesthetic result. For example, if a patient has thin skin and a thin fat layer, a powerful vacuum will leave too visible traces in the place of “passage” of the cannula. In such a case, only very gentle pressure is possible, which is created by a syringe. The syringe helps to suck fat in small doses – the doctor leaves the skin relief as smooth and smooth as possible.

Achieve The Body You Desire With The Liposuction Procedure

Water-jet liposuction. It is considered a relatively low-traumatic method of eliminating excess adipose tissue and allows the use of local anesthesia. Under the skin through the puncture, the same cannula is inserted.

Further, under pressure, a liquid is supplied through the cannula and then the vacuum pump evacuates the fluid washed out by the liquid stream and liquid residues through the cannula.

Radio frequency. The so-called “novelty”. The principal difference from other species is that radiofrequency energy is used to break down adipose tissue. Here, two electrodes are used – internal and external. The internal electrode is placed in the fat layer, it also serves as a tube for fat suction, a temperature sensor.

Laser liposuction. Removal of adipose tissue occurs with a special cannula with a built-in laser. The disadvantages of this type include the advisability of using only small amounts of fat to be removed.

Liposuction Techniques

Vibration Assisted Liposuction. The main feature is the vacuum cannula that produces short rotational movements. Such liposuction requires less effort from the plastic surgeon, and a large volume of adipose tissue can be removed.

In each case, the type of liposuction is selected individually. In our experience, the most gentle kinds of liposuction is the traditional, tumescent, syringe. Because with a certain skill of the surgeon they are the least traumatic, other types of liposuction, as a rule, are more traumatic, remaining effective even in inept hands.

Contraindications

Liposuction is not performed, when the patient “has” the following health problems:

  • infectious diseases;
  • Varicose veins, thrombophlebitis;
  • Diseases of internal organs;
  • diabetes;
  • cardiovascular diseases;
  • Bleeding disorders;
  • oncological diseases.
