How Much Is Abdominal Liposuction Cost?
Liposuction of the lower abdomen alone is not often performed as fat tends to accumulate throughout the entire abdomen and around to the flanks. Treating only one area can lead to an artificial unnatural look.
Consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon can help determine which areas should be treated to provide you with the best abdominal contour. I would expect the cost to range from $5000-7000 depending on how many areas need to be treated. (Tyler Angelos, MD, Columbus Plastic Surgeon)
Liposuction Fees for the Abdomen
The fee for a liposuction procedure is variable and depends upon where your procedure will take place, surgeon expertise, surgeon experience, surgical technique, type of anesthesia and how many areas are to be treated.
Liposuction typically begins around $4,500 (including facility and anesthesia fees) and can go up from there depending upon how many areas you are having treated.
For patients who are concerned about the lower abdomen, I typically recommend having liposuction of the full abdomen to provide for the best and most even cosmetic result. I believe that treating the abdomen in its entirety would afford the patient the best cosmetic result by shrinking the entire abdominal region down evenly.(Stephen T. Greenberg, MD, Woodbury Plastic Surgeon)
The upper and lower abdomen are much more commonly involved than just the lower abdomen and packages range from $3000-$6500. (Jeffrey Weinzweig, MD, Chicago Plastic Surgeon)
The typical cost for liposuction of the abdomen is $5,000 – $7,000.
Most of my patients do additional areas at the same time for additional cost. Local anesthesia is adequate for one to two areas in most cases.
For larger amounts of liposuction I would typically recommend additional anesthesia such as IV sedation or general anesthesia for patient comfort. (David Stoker, MD, Los Angeles Plastic Surgeon)
If you are able to calculate your BMI, it is easy to figure our the cost. Typically it is in the 2K to 5K range depending upon your size. These our the prices in my practice so I can only speak to what we offer.
Other prices may be competitive outside of your areal. Quite often surgeons can accommodate out of town patients in a hotel. Speaking for my practice, the patient comes in the night before the surgery to meet the staff and stays with someone that night and then leaves the next day.
Of course you have to consider travel costs. If you have a local surgeon that you are working with you should be okay. Just make sure that liposuction is a big part of the practice.
We all have our areas of concentration so you should be able to find a surgeon that does quite a bit of liposuction. (Paul C. Dillon, MD, Chicago Plastic Surgeon)
Lower abdominal liposuction cost
Liposuction can be done under general anesthesia or under local anesthesia. If you can tolerated it under local, the cost could be $2500-$4000. If you add other areas or add general anesthesia, the cost could easily be twice as much. (Dana Goldberg, MD, Jupiter Plastic Surgeon)
Liposuction in the Midwest Ranges From $2700-$3600
Liposuction costs vary and are dependent upon multiple factors. These include the surgeon’s fee, facility fee, anesthesia charges, location of the liposuction procedure and the type of liposuction performed. The approach to liposuction varies from physician to physician.
Some surgeon’s use general anesthesia, some use a hospital, and some use techniques that involve expensive technology.
Each of these variables can affect the cost of liposuction. In the Midwestern United States, liposuction fees for treating the lower abdomen range from $2700 to $3600.
This would typically include the surgeon’s fee, facility fee, anesthesia charges, and after care. Cost is obviously important, but it’s also important to be comfortable with the surgeon’s qualifications and experience. (Richard J. Bruneteau, MD, Omaha Plastic Surgeon)
The cost of liposuction varies from surgeon to surgeon. The average cost of liposuction in my practice is from $999 per area. We require a minimum of 2 areas. It is unusual to perform liposuction in just one area.
In body contouring, my gaol is to achieve body harmony. We offer the option of liposuction with or without sedation. The cost of the procedure should not be used to select a surgeon. You should select a surgeon based on his/her experience and certification.
Selecting a Plastic surgeon certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgeons, assures you that your surgeon has had the surgical training in liposuction. (Stanley Okoro, MD, Atlanta Plastic Surgeon)
Although you are looking for pricing on the lower belly, a consultation is necessary to quote how many areas will be treated. Our pricing depends on how many areas are to be treated. To give you a ballpark figure, $3700 for the 1st area and $750 for each additional area is reasonable.
Operating room and anesthesia can range for an additional $1500 to $2500. (Otto Joseph Placik, MD, Chicago Plastic Surgeon)
In my practice in MIAMI I would charge a fee of $2,800 using the Smart Lipo Triplex 40 watt unit. (Darryl J. Blinski, MD, Miami Plastic Surgeon)
The cost of liposuction depends on the size of the area and how long the procedure will take. Some providers perform liposuction with no local anesthesia, sedation, or general anesthesia.
The type of anesthesia also affects the cost. (Austin Hayes, MD, Portland Plastic Surgeon)
