Answer Snippet
How much PRP do you actually get from your blood?
PRP injections
Nov 15, 2018
We usually draw 10 ml of blood which yields 3 ml PRP. For alopecia, this is injected in the areas of hair loss evenly. There is no standard methodology as of yet so make sure you find a practitioner that has extensive empirical experience in performing this treatment. We typically recommend 3 PRP treatments total at a 3 month time period. Depending on the results we recommend further txs.
Why have my pores and acne scars gotten worse after my 2nd Fraxel session?
post Fraxel acne flare
Nov 12, 2018
Its hard from the pics to advise, for example how long after the treatment where these pictures taken. did you apply anything to your face after the treatment, like aquaphor?
fraxel induces local damage and stimulates microinflammation during the healing process so its not surprising to see the skin flare. Please go back to your doctor, he/she may be able to give you some medication to reduce the acne flare. Use a topical that is non allergenic. Your skin will heal eventually and will look...
After 7 months of abdominal liposuction I still feel tightness in my stomach which leads up to my chest
abdominal liposuction
Nov 2, 2018
You need to go see your primary physician for any symptoms that leave you in distress. If could be acid reflux, if you have recently changed your lifestyle or started any medications this could lead to the symptoms you describe. It may or may not be related to your surgery so best get a professional opinion.
I have a dent above my eye would fillers help?
Filler for forehead
Oct 17, 2018
Absolutely, you can treat this with a filler and you are right as you age and the superficial/deep fat pads of the fat get depleted it will show up more. I advise a filler such as sculptra or radiesse that is long lived and can stimulate dermal remodeling to improve the quality of your skin as well. Find a board certified dermatoogist or plastic surgeon to narrow down your options for your unique indication.
My stomach is very lumpy from previous liposuction. Can this be fixed?
Lumpy stomach
Oct 17, 2018
If lumpy refers to unevenness, not ''hard lumps'', that can be corrected by additional liposuction. If its less than 6 months since your treatment I advise to wait some additional time for things to even out- otherwise go back to your doctor for a followup consultation. Hard lumps can be an indication of another condition, so your best bet if to visit your doctor again and request some feedback.
Restalyne Lyft for tear troughs with a needle, not canula: what could be causing a recurrent delayed re
Delayed reaction to filler
Oct 15, 2018
This is a common manifestation we often see in patients injected with fillers. Its not a matter of the needle vs cannula, with cannula you have less bruising but the needle itself won't be the reason of the delayed swelling. After the filler implants there is a local inflammatory reaction as the tissue remodels and integrate with the filler. Its usually self resolving. The amount of swelling really depends on the patient physiology, some people dont have any reaction, whereas others have a...
How much time off work for abdomen and love handles lipo?
Time off lipo
Oct 15, 2018
Liposuction procedures do not require much downtime- a day or two after your. treatment you'll be able to walk around- but best take a week off work. There is a cascade of side effects, such as edema, bruising, swelling that will last a while but within 6 months you'll be able to fully enjoy the results. The cost varies, just make sure to find a board certified physician that has experience in performing liposuction.
Is this possibly an infection from Voluma or a late-onset inflammatory response?
Post inflammatory response, Voluma
Aug 23, 2018
Hi I am sorry to hear this happened to you! The physician was correct in prescribing a steroid to combat the inflammation AND an antibiotic to kill any bacterial infection. Since you are only on day 2 and see improvement thats a great sign- continue the full course of antibiotics/steroid to see resolution. After a couple of weeks if you see asymmetry you can ask for hyaluronidase to remove the Voluma. Good luck!
I’m getting a non-surgical nose job tomorrow with Radiesse. How long will this most likely last?
Radiesse durability
Aug 14, 2018
Definitely will last up to 2 years, in fact around the 5 mo time point is when results will be looking their best. Good luck and congratulations!
Is liposuction a good option for removal of the banana roll?
banana roll liposuction
Aug 13, 2018
I am sorry to hear cool sculpting didnt work for you- perhaps the amount of fat was too much and you would need more treatments. Liposuction would be a good alternative, and within your budget. Find an experienced physician that performs VASER lipo or something similar so aside from removing the fat can also help prevent sogginess of the skin. Good luck
What treatment do I need to get my body back?
Post partum woes
Aug 3, 2018
First of all you look great! Give your body a full year after pregnancy to settle back, even more time if you are actively nursing. For laxity there are several treatments that you can explore with your board certified dermatologist. I am personally a fan of combination treatments, specifically Venus Legacy together with a filler such as sculptra- these can improve skin quality and tighten the lax skin over time. Good luck!
Is one PRP + ACell treatment enough for hair growth?
PRP
Aug 1, 2018
I am sorry to hear your physician is misinformed. The traditional protocol for PRP for hair loss is 3 monthly treatments followed by a treatment every 3 months, then 6 months as necessary. The price quoted is definitely over the top for one treatment so I recommend you get a second opinion by a dermatologist that specialized in the field of PRP.
What is the recovery/healing time for Fraxel laser to face?
Fraxel recovery time
Jul 31, 2018
Fraxel is a non-ablative laser, that as opposed to older generation lasers its considered a lunchtime treatment with minimal recovery, 3-4 days max. How you react really depends on the settings your doctor uses and your skin type. More aggressive treatments on fair skin will lead to redness but it resolves after a couple of days. Some of my patients just stay red for an hr and can put on their make up and go.
I have droopy eyelids from Botox. How can I fix it?
Droopy eyelids from Botox
Jul 31, 2018
I am sorry to hear this side effect. Although it isn't ideal, it does occur if the injector places too much product or places it near the brow. Since botox isn't permanent you have an option to wait it out, or go to your physician and ask for some eye drops that can help restimulate the muscle.
Botox brow drop
Botox brow drop
Jul 23, 2018
Drooping eyebrows are one of the side effects that can occur after botox injections. The forehead is an approved site of injection but sometimes if you inject the frontalis muscle in the forehead it can weaken it and lead to brow drop. As botox isn't permanent, expect the effect to wear off in a couple of months. Hang in there!
