How Long After Smart Lipo Can One Exercise?

Most doctors recommend that patients start or restart an exercise regimen about 2-3 weeks after liposuction to best enhance results, although (light) general activity can be resumed 1-2 days after. We do recommend that our patients MOVE after surgery to speed up their recovery.

If your concern is extra/sagging skin, liposuction will not be a good resolution to this problem as liposuction is used to remove unwanted fat and can leave to access the skin. For tightening the skin a mini lift or tuck would be recommended, you could combine this with liposuction as well. Double chin surgery, such as a chin tuck, neck lift or chin liposuction, may help you look younger or thinner. The procedures can shape the area, remove excess fat and smooth the skin.
If I get Smart Lipo on my upper and lower abdomen, do I also have to do my flanks? Or can I opt-out of

Some individuals may not have enough fat to remove from the flanks, but if you do and you decide to forgo this area while getting your abdomen treated you may regret leaving that area out of your treatment plan. Consult with your surgeon on what they would recommend based on how much fat you carry in that area.

What’s thhe best way to sleep after Smart Lipo and should my diet include high fatty acids post op?

Extending your body straight from head to toe may put pressure on your incisions and hamper their healing. It’s best to find a comfortable position that relieves this pressure and allows those sutures to stay in place without any pulling or stretching. Although sleeping on your side may be acceptable, many may find themselves tossing and turning, which can cause wounds to be pulled or open. Because you can’t sleep on your tummy, we recommend finding the most comfortable position on your back.

It is ideal for patients who have specific areas of localized fat deposits and have tried unsuccessfully to eliminate them through diet, exercise and weight loss. The addition of laser heat with the SmartLipo procedure provides an added benefit of tightening the skin. Liposuction alone does not provide any skin tightening benefits, so there is an increased possibility of dimpling or sagging after the procedure, particularly with older patients who have lost more of the elasticity of the skin.
