Dying for mini facelift at 26
26-year old with facial volume loss
Mar 4, 2016
What you describe over is volume loss in your face not premature face/neck laxity. Laxity is managed with a lift and volume loss is managed with volume replacement. As individuals age they most often need a combination of both techniques; however at your age you most likely just need properly place volume, and with this, the emphasis is on proper placement. Although your posted image is shadowed, it appears you would benefit from volume replacement not in the nasolabial fold, but rather over…
How can I get rid of loose skin on my neck? I am 60
Sagging neck, WVa
Feb 27, 2016
At 60 your skin elasticity is such that you would be best served to consider a face/neck lift. You should consult with either a board certified plastic or facial plastic surgeon in your are.
Can I have my upper eyelids tattooed before I have a blepharoplasty?
Permanent eyelid tattoo
Feb 11, 2016
I would advise you wait until your blepharoplasty is well healed (3-4 months) before considering this. They are your eyes, and as you know styles change, be conservative.
What procedure to lift my eyebrows?
Brow lift
Feb 10, 2016
Your photo shows some degree of brow asymmetry and a downward slope of your medial brow. This is commonly associated with hyperactivity of the glabellar muscles (frown muscles between the brows). I would suggest you first start with Botox injections of the area. This is often times all that is needed to balance the asymmetry and give a little inner lift to the brows. This is your least invasive and least expensive approach. The one downside is, if you like the effect from Botox, it is…
Does an anterior neck lift leave a permanent incision scar down the front of your neck?
Neck lift, Atlanta
Feb 10, 2016
An anterior direct excision of the redundant skin and fat under the chin is an out dated procedure, leaves a very unacceptable scar and should be held in reserved for patients with unusual medical circumstances. Today there are excellent surgical options where the concerning excess fat can be sculpted, muscles tightened and redundant skin redraped with well concealed scars. In the Atlanta area there are excellent plastic and facial plastic surgeons capable of helping you with this.
Would a transconjunctival lower bleph with fat removal only cause hollow eyes for me?
Hollowing after lower blepharoplasty
Feb 8, 2016
You raise a good question. Today, hollowing is less of a concern with the emphasis on fat preservation and transposition of the fat into the tear tough. These techniques are well occomplished via a transconjunctival approach. It sounds like your surgeon has outlined a good plan for you and I wish you success.
Do I need a lower face lift?
25 year old smoke, question facelift
Feb 8, 2016
You raise several good question:At 25 do you need a facelift? From the photo provided of just your central upper lip and nasal tip it is impossible to assess your aging process and changes to your skin from sun damage, smoking, diet, etc. However, at age 25 it is highly unlikely that you are ready for any age related facial surgery. At this point in time you should be focusing on minimizing the cumulative effects of sun damage, smoking, poor diet, dramatic…
Blepharoplasty: Which method would leave these bags at the door?!
Lower lid puffiness
Dec 20, 2015
You appear to be an excellent candidate for a transconjunctival blepharoplasty. His should handle to bulking fat and leave no external scar. You should consult a board certified plastic or oculpplastic surgeon with the tramsconjunctival approach.
For a mid face lift surgery, is local anesthetic safer than general anesthesia?
Safety and face/neck lift
Dec 17, 2015
Great question! It is alway the first rule all physicians follow–First do no harm. In my opinion you should consider proceeding have a board certified surgeon performing the surgery and a board certified anesthesiologist providing a safe and comfortable anesthetic. Each is equally important and neither should be compromised. Doing this at a certified SurgiCenter is often times preferable.
I am 39 in Brisbane Aus. What is the best way to remove chin fat due to a double chin please? (ph
Submental adiposity(fat)
Dec 16, 2015
When you weigh all factor of Kybela vs surgical liposuction under local anesthesia or light oral sedation, I believe you would be best serve with the latter. Kybela is nonsurgical, but is limited to the submental area and costs can equal surgical liposuction if multiple sessions are required. Surgical liposuction offers a predictable broader correction of your adiposity that extends beyond your submental area. In most cases the cost is not prohibitive. I suggest you contact a…
Am I a candidate for an Upper Eyelid surgery?
43 year old with upper lid skin fold
Dec 11, 2015
I assume your other eye shows similar finding. On this photo your brow appears a little low and flat, and your lateral lip skin fold is resting on your lashes. You may benefit from a modified brow lift and upper blepharoplasty. My goal for the brow would to improve its position and arch form, which would inturn improvec the longevity of the blepharoplasty.
Floor orbital fracture. What should I do now?
Orbital floor fracture
Dec 7, 2015
In general the accepted surgical indications for an acute orbital floor fracture are:1. Displaced fracture with the size of the floor defect being over 1- sq cm2. Heniation of orbital content and/or ocular muscle into the maxillary sinus3. Entrapment of the ocular muscle by the fracture4, Double vision In the absence of these findings, nondisplaced fractures will heal uneventfully. On occasion however, some people will develop delayed enophthalmos, which may be due to some loss of…
Plastic surgeon to administer propofol vs. anesthesiologists? part 2
Delivery of propofol
Dec 3, 2015
You raise an excellent and very controversial topic, both amongst physicians as well as dentists. Propofol is a rapidly on/off intravenous anesthetic used to induce or maintain a level of anesthesia to allow for a procedure. However, because of its rapid properties its use requires a great deal of training by the doctor and staff. All involved need to fully understand each phase of the anesthetic and monitor for even the subtle changes that precede an untoward event, and if…
Will having lower lid blepharoplasty remove Radiesse from under eyes?
Radiesse in lower lids
Dec 1, 2015
At 21-months the Radiesse should be gone. Your discription of itchiness and swelling is suggestive of contact dermatitis involving your lower lids. I suggest no surgery until this is ruled out. You should consult an ophthalmologist to examine your eyes and review all old and new products, soap, makeup, etc that maybe contributing.
How can I get rid of this sagging skin, wrinkles, & texture?? I’m only 31. What procedures would
Acne scars and laxity
Dec 1, 2015
Your photos show acne scars, skin laxity and some volume loss. Assuming your acne is inactive off accutane or other medications, you should consult a specialist experience in laser scar ablation and methods of volumization. Depending on the variable depth of acne scars, you may require more than one session for laser ablation. This will also give some tightening. There are many options for volumization, your specialist should be able to discuss the pros, cons and life of each.
