Is It Easier to Get Rid of a Tattoo when You First Get It Done?
Tattoo Removal
Dec 5, 2011
Yes, it can be me easier to get rid of a tattoo when you first get it done. However if there are extremely dark/dense patches, multiple treatments may be needed. The Q Switched laser is an excellent laser for removing the tattoo. Sometimes a fractionated resurfacing laser is used in conjunction with the Q Switched laser to speed along the process. In addition, imiquimod (Aldara) cream can be used topically to also speed up the process.
How Many Sclerotherapy Treatments Are Needed for Spider angioma?
Sclerotherapy
Dec 5, 2011
Sclerotherapy is not the treatment for spider angioma. In my opinion, the pulsed dye laser (PDL) would be the treatment of choice.
Still Numb 3 Hours After Lip Augmentation with Juvederm, is this Normal?
Numb After Lip Augmentation
Dec 5, 2011
It is normal to stell feel numb 3 hours after lip augmentation. It could be that anesthesia was administed in the Juvederm in the brand known as Juvederm XC or a nerve block was used — or a topical is still working. No need to worry.
How Soon It is Safe to Become Pregnant or Trying to Get Pregnant After Having Restylane/perlane Don
Getting Pregnant After Restylane
Dec 5, 2011
No problem here! It could be same day, same night! There are no contraindications to be concerned about.
What is the Best Way to Treat an Old Chicken Pox Scar ?
Chicken Pox Scars
Dec 5, 2011
I recommend the CROSS technique, which stands for chemical reconstruction of skin scars. It involves the application of TCA 9acid) with a toothpick in the deepest portion of the scar. This will make your body producen collagen. Repeating the CROSS procedure three or more times can greatly improve the scar.

Other techniques include:

– subsicision

– punch removal and suturing

– punch grafting

– resurfacing with laser

What Are the Best Chin Liposuction Techniques?
Chin Liposuction
Nov 23, 2011
When there is fat under the chin, traditional liposuction using a syringe or a machine can be used to extract the fat. However, using a laser with a tiny fiber optic beam of light (the size of a strand of spaghetti) is my preferred technique becuase it causes much less bruising and less downtime.

In my opinion, there is an advantage to using the 1440 nm Smartlipo (laser) because the wavelength of this laser is very attracted to water in our skin. This helps not only…

How Safe is Botox when Applied to the Upper Lip for Smoker’s Lines?
Botox for smoker’s lines
Nov 23, 2011
Injecting Botox to the upper lip is considered an "off label" use of Botox. It is very safe if the Botox is delivered in tiny amounts, strategically and symmetrically placed. If too much Botox is injected, it may become difficult to sip from a straw, whistle, or say certain words that start with the letter "P" or "B", etc. This is the reason it is best to seek attention from a board-certified dermatologist or plastic surgeon.
How Long Can You Go Between Sculptra Injections?
How Long To Wait Between Sculptra Injections
Nov 23, 2011
One should wait a minimum of 1 month in my opinion, 6-8 weeks might even be better between Sculptra injections as there is a delay in the final effect. You will see waiting longer than two months is not a problem because Sculptra is a stimulating product that takes time for your body to produce collagen.
I Have Very Dark Hair and Very Light Skin. Which Laser Method Would Be Best for Me?
Laser for Dark Hair, Light Skin
Nov 23, 2011
In my opinion, the long pulsed Alexandrite laser would probably be the ideal laser for you.
Is Tumescent Chin Liposuction the Least Invasive Form of Chin Liposuction?
Chin Liposuction
Nov 14, 2011
"Tumescent" simply means that a large amount of salt water (saline) mixed with lidocaine is used for local anesthesia. This minimizes bleeding and bruising, and help s lift the fat off the deeper structure in the neck.

It makes liposuction safer, easier, with less downtime and less bruising, using a a beam of light (laser) to gently melt the fat, as opposed to a machine that "sucks" is even less traumatic in my opinion.

A tiny nick in the skin is made…

If I Use Iopidine for a Droopy Eye Lid After Botox, Will the Botox Stop Working?
Iopidine and Botox
Nov 14, 2011
No – it will just help the eylid become less droopy. The Botox will continue to "work" in the other muscles of the forehead/face.
What Laser Best for Freckle Removal?
Freckle Removal
Nov 14, 2011
In my opinion, a Q switched laser, such as the Q switched alexandrite laser (with a wavelength of 755nm) is the best laser for removal of freckles. Make sure you consult a board-ceritifed dermatologist, skilled and experienced in laser. If any of the freckles appear to be "abnormal" to the trained eye of a dermatologist, they should be biopsied first before eradicating them with laser.
Is Glycolic Peel Good for Stretchmarks?
Glycolic Peels for Stretchmarks
Oct 24, 2011
If stretchmarks are white and mature, a glycolic peel may help the skin make more collagen — also products containing tretinoin, such as Retin A or Renova can be quite helpful as well as the use of a non-ablative laser. For stretch marks that are red and/or infamed, I recommedn treated with the pulsed dye laser (PDL)..
Smartdot Lazer and Erbium Lazer Are They the Same Lazers?
SmartXide DOT and Erbium Lasers
Oct 24, 2011
The SmartXide DOT and Erbium lasers are not the same. The SmartXide DOT is a CO2 fractional resurfacing laser, manufactured by DEKA, that has an excellent track record. It is a very versatile system that can be customized to each individual (in terms of how much downtime they have, etc.). The Erbium laser is a different beam of light that can be effective at resurfacing as well. My advice is to seek out a board-certified dermatologist who is proficient with…
Is a Large Bruise Under My Eye A Normal Sculptra Side Effect?
Bruise and Sculptra
Oct 17, 2011
Whenever injections are administered in the face from any filler or Botox, Dysport, etc. there is always a chance of hitting a small blood vessel and having temporary bruising. The skin around the eye is very thin and vascular so that bruising is a common side effect of filling in this area. To minimize chances of bruising in the future, try to refrain from aspirin, motrin, Vitamin E for a week or two prior to treatment,

– The herbal supplement, arnica montana, can be…
