Can You Liposuction Armpit Fat?
Armpit fat treatments
What most people call armpit fat may be fat or fat and some breast tissue. Many doctors are fully capable of examining this area and if there is a concern, then further testing such as ultrasound can be done to make sure what we are dealing with.
Generally speaking, fat can be removed with liposuction and create a beautiful contours and appearance. If there us a significant breast tissue, that may bee surgical excision. (Mariusz Sapijaszko, MD, FRCPC, Edmonton Dermatologic Surgeon)
This is usually a very soft fat that is effectively removed by liposuction. (Jon A. Perlman, MD, Beverly Hills Plastic Surgeon)
Outer Breast Fat Can Do Well With Lipo
Liposuction can have excellent results in this area. The tissues mold well and ultrasonic liposuction is not usually required. For patients over fifty, I use Smart-Lipo for skin tightening. These annoying “chubettes” can be helped.
An exam by a plastic surgeon will help you with this area to make sure there is no underlying accessory breast tissue. There usually is not. (Keith Denkler, MD, Marin Plastic Surgeon)
Liposuction can help reduce armpit fat in right candidate
If the area is primarily fat and not fibrous tissue, liposuction could be a great option to reduce your armpit fat. CoolMini from CoolSculpting is a non-invasive option that was just FDA approved as well.
Finally, Kybella, which is a simple injection approved for neck fat can also be used in this area. I recommend visiting a board-certified dermatologist or plastic surgeon with experience in armpit fat removal for an in-person evaluation to see what the best option for you is. (Mitchel P. Goldman, MD, San Diego Dermatologic Surgeon)
Treatment for armpit fat and/or axillary breast tissue
If the area consists primarily of fat and skin elasticity is not an issue, liposuction may be an option. If the area instead consists of axillary breast tissue, liposuction may not be as successful and may require excision instead.
In some cases, a combination of liposuction and excision is required. It is difficult to best advise without conducting a physical examination.
I would highly recommend consulting with aboard-certified plastic surgeon who has experience dealing with this “problem area.” It is at the time of this examination that the best course of action can be determined. (Stephen T. Greenberg, MD, Woodbury Plastic Surgeon)
Armpit Fat Removal
Contouring this area with liposuction may help. Some of this fat could be from excess breast tissue which has more limitations. Consult your plastic surgeon who can assess your anatomy and give you recommendations. (Jeffrey W. Hall, MD, Austin Plastic Surgeon)
I have had good success with contouring this area with liposuction alone. However, if there is breast tissue in this area, the amount of correction will be limited. (Marialyn Sardo, MD, La Jolla Plastic Surgeon)
How to remove bulging fat next to breasts?
In my experience, this small bulge of fat, which may indeed represent supernumerary breast tissue, is usually very soft, free of fibrous stroma, and responds well to syringe liposuction in the office.
Post surgical compression is indicated (custom fitted or sized elastic bra, vest, or elastic bandages to apply gentle pressure for prevention of bleeding and control of swelling).
Direct surgical excision reserved, in my opinion, for much larger bulges. (Steve Laverson, MD, San Diego Plastic Surgeon)
Liposuction of the armpit area does make a big improvement !
Liposuction under local anesthesia does make a big improvement in the bulges all around the armpit (front, center, and back). Recovery is fast and the procedure is easy to undergo. Fat and fibrous tissue both are usually removed and doesn’t leave any ugly scars.
Cost is roughly $4,000 on special and is so worth it. (David Hansen, MD, Beverly Hills Dermatologic Surgeon)
