Her focus is on achieving natural and complete transformations from skin health to structural improvement using in office procedures expertly and with safety in mind. She has studied laser and energy technologies, minimally invasive procedures as well as injectable techniques to achieve near surgical results during her career.
” The greatest satisfaction I have is to develop a long term partnership with patients who wish to manage the changes they see in the mirror in a graceful and positive way. I love to help patients rediscover the best version of themselves using medically proven interventions. My professional pursuit is to blend my education in primary care dermatology and keen interest in non surgical techniques with visual art, and aesthetic medicine has been a perfect expression of this passion”
RealSelf Q&A with Dr. Lotay
RS: What makes your practice unique?
HL: “Every one in our practice is focussed on one thing: the patient’s goals and how to get them the best results possible. Our team is passionate about educating themselves and also our patients. We have really made it a priority to keep up with the latest, most effective technologies and techniques available. Often, in this field there is a sense that aesthetic interventions are for those wanting extreme change or to be someone different. We can help you achieve a more dramatic change but also can aim for subtle natural but impactful change. It’s what we are know for.
We make what we do easy to understand and make sure we keep your goals in mind at each step.”
RS: What are you consultations like?
HL: “We offer two options for consultations, in person or online. The consultations are focussed on understanding what you see when you look in the mirror and understanding what you would like to change or improve. We then spend quite a bit of time sharing information on various technologies or interventions and go through some before and afters of our treatments for you to review. The consultation is really a sharing of thoughts and information as well as an opportunity to get all your skincare and aesthetic questions answered. We believe we are starting a longterm friendship with all our guests so its never about pressure or immediate decisions. We are in it with you for the long haul!”
RS: What led you to choose Aesthetic Medicine as your focus?
HL ” Well, I have always loved Anatomy and Surgery or the technical skills in Medicine but I also love visual arts and painting. In fact, one of my paintings really opened up the door for me to study with my mentor in Philadelphia. He admired the painting and was a fabulous artist himself. Upon finishing my training with him, I gifted him the painting which I hope still hangs in his office! I definitely see this field as combining my strengths as well as all the things that give me joy.”

I’m Latina 3 days post Halo. Should I go back if I’m not seeing any results? How long should I wait
Halo
Sep 1, 2017
Thanks for your question. The reaction you have from the Halo is dependent on whether you had a Halo Pro treatment (ablative and nonablative laser) or Halo (nonablative only). A Nonablative laser does not break the skin and spending on the strength of treatment ( power, depth, and density) done the reaction can vary. I would suggest you return to the provider who performed the procedure and have a conversation about your goals, experience with the current…

Halo for acne scarring
Aug 1, 2017
Halo is considered a hybrid laser that has both ablative and nonablative components. Both wavelengths are fractional and delivered in a varied and even pattern. The depth of treatment can be varied which is unique to this laser. CO2 can be fractional or fully ablative and there is no nonablative component. Depending on the type of acne scarring that is present, subcision may be helpful. At our clinic we often combine subcision with Halo. Halo…
Botox lip flip to help with downward corners of lips?
Botox and Fillers for lips
Jul 16, 2017
A muscle at the corners of the lips may be responsible for the downward pull or turn at the edge of the lips. Looking at your pictures it seems that a combination of Botox to these depressor muscles would help, along with fillers to the upper lip. Fillers could be used to turn the edges of the lips outward. Seeing an expert injector is key.
What can I do about getting eyelashes and eyebrows to grow? I don’t have either
Eyebrow loss
Jul 13, 2017
Eyebrow and eyelash loss can be caused by a few different things including alopecia areata, repeated plucking or trauma such as false eyelash use. Other more rare causes include scarring hair loss conditions such as frontal fibrosing alopecia. It’s best to see someone who is experienced in the diagnosis and treatment of hair loss as the treatment will depend on the cause. Latisse and PRP are commonly used for age related thinning and can be good adjuncts for some…

Too young for Botox
Jul 13, 2017
Botox is a fabulous preventive treatment for those lines that are caused by excessive or habitual muscle movement. 27 is not too young if you have lines that are forming from constantly creasing the skin. The treatment is safe and lasts anywhere from 3-6 months for most people. Thanks for your question!
