All surgical procedures vary in price by doctor and his location. Most of us charge by the anatomical area. An example would be flanks. In the South Bay area of Los Angeles, and area runs about $3,000 and does not depend on the amount of fat removed.
The procedure is continued until all the available fat is removed and contouring is optimal. (David A. Bray, Sr., MD, Los Angeles Facial Plastic Surgeon)
Smart Liposuction Triplex cost can vary
Smart liposuction Triplex is not for everyone but if you are a good candidate the cost can vary from state to state. In our cosmetic center, the cost ranges from $2000 for the first area and then $500 for each additional area.
We have the newest laser for smart liposuction and have become one of their teaching centers. The procedure does take slightly longer then traditional liposuction but the recovery can be a little easier on the patient. (William J. Hedden, MD, Birmingham Plastic Surgeon)
Usually Smart Lipo cost is higher than traditional Lipo
Generally, Smart Lipo costs more than traditional liposuction, as the operating costs are higher. The machine costs $150,000 and the physician passes this cost on to the patient. Most of the surgeons (or non-surgeons) using this technology at this time are not plastic surgeons.
This is very concerning to surgeons such as myself, who realize the training required to do liposuction safely and effectively. If time and unbiased research proves that there is some advantage of Smart Lipo, this additional cost may be worth it and plastic surgeons may jump on board. (York Jay Yates, MD, Salt Lake City Plastic Surgeon)
SmartLipo is not cost effective
While SmartLipo is effective for certain isolated areas, it is not designed for more significant liposuction such as for thighs and butt. For these areas, you may not be getting a cost effective solution if you opt for SmartLipo.
If you are otherwise in good health and below 200 pounds, you may be a good candidate for traditional liposuction. (Kris M. Reddy, MD, FACS, West Palm Beach Plastic Surgeon)
Your body is paying for your decision, not your wallet.
SmartLipo Triplex has yet to prove itself from a research standpoint as a beneficial method of treatment. He also wisely points out that the biggest concern with SmartLipo are the inadequately trained persons performing the procedure.
Recent data from the American Society of Plastic Surgeons reveals that only 3% of Plastic Surgeons surveyed use SmartLipo. That should be a huge red flag to patients.
You will certainly pay less to have a less well trained and experienced person perform your surgery, so it is reasonable assume that you will pay a Family Practice Physician much less than you will a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon.
Just decide how important it is to you that the person performing your surgery actually be a surgeon with the most training and expertise in the procedure. (Brian K. Brzowski, MD, FACS, Ogden Plastic Surgeon)
SmartLipo Triplex has revolutionized liposculpting due to its diversity as well as skin tightening ability. I have completely transitioned to only SmartLipo in my practice and typically will charge $3200 for the first area which includes facility, anesthesia, and a personalized post-operative kit.
Any additional areas are able to be added for a minimal fee with the upper and lower abdomen being considered as one area. (Patrick Viscardi, MD, South Bend Plastic Surgeon)
Cost of SmartLipo Triplex varies based on size and areas treated.
In our practice, we consult potential patients that come in all sizes and shapes, and want various different areas treated, such as waist, arms, thighs, hips, chin, etc. Once we determine that a person is a good candidate for SmartLipo, the cost of the procedure is then determined by factors such as BMI, body measurements, desired treatment areas, and the amount of time the case will take overall.
Since different surgeons use different parameters for pricing, the best advice is to get a consultation that will specifically address your specific needs. (Windell C. Davis-Boutte, MD, Atlanta Dermatologic Surgeon)
The fees for Smartlipo Triplex vary depending on the areas to be treated (abdomen, outer thighs, hips, etc). (V. William Papanastasiou, MD, Montreal Plastic Surgeon)
SmartLipo fee varies by body size
The surgical fee for liposuction varies according to body size. By the way SmartLipo Triplex and other types of laser assisted liposuction may not be very smart. Many experienced liposuction surgeons do not use lasers since it takes longer, increasing cost, and there is no scientific evidence that lasers provide additonal benefit.
Worse yet, I am now seeing severe complications from laser assisted liposuction performed by doctors who learned this at a company sponsored weekend seminar. As always, it is best to choose a properly trained doctor with many years of experience. (William P. Coleman III, MD, Metairie Dermatologic Surgeon)
