Biography: Doreen Schuett, RN, BSN is the Head Cosmetic Dermatology Nurse at Signature Medical Spa. Her experience in facial and body rejuvenation exceeds a decade, and she is a highly sought-after practitioner in the field of cosmetic dermatology. Doreen’s repertoire of services includes educational cosmetic consultations, facial rejuvenation and contouring with dermal fillers, Botox® and other neuromodulators, skin tightening with Thermage™ and Ultherapy® ; and removal of leg veins, brown spots and vascular concerns. Her expertise with laser rejuvenation includes Fraxel®, Intense Pulsed Light, and other devices. Her deep knowledge of the skin and cosmetic treatments is combined with artistry and compassion. Biography: Cindy Slawson, RN, BSN is one of our very talented Cosmetic Dermatology Nurses at Signature Medical Spa. She is a graduate of the University of Virginia, with degrees in Nursing and Psychology.

Cindy has served the practice for over ten years, in both the medical and cosmetic dermatology divisions. Her repertoire of services includes educational cosmetic consultations, Botox® and other neuromodulators, and miraDry, a permanent solution for underarm sweat and odor.

Born and raised in Charlottesville, Cindy is a devoted mother of four young adults. She enjoys hiking, reading, and biking in her spare time.

Name: Sara Hawken, NP

Position: Nurse Practitioner

Biography: Sara Hawken is a certified Adult Health Nurse Practitioner specializing in dermatology. She has over 15 years of clinical nursing experience and is a member of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, the Dermatology Nurses’ Association and Sigma Theta Tau. She was chosen as the prestigious President’s Award Recipient in 2014 for the “Highest Standards of Clinical Excellence” from Augusta Medical Group in Fishersville, VA. She has a nursing degree from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio and a Master’s degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. As an ROTC graduate she served 5 years as a commissioned officer in the United States Air Force Nurse Corps.

She lives in Charlottesville with her husband, 4 sons, and baby daughter. She multi-tasks too much, but tries to find the time to read and cook when possible.

Name: Jody Sproul, FNP

Position: Nurse Practitioner

Biography: Jody Sproul is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner credentialed through the American Nurses Credentialing Center. Jody obtained her baccalaureate and master’s degree from The Pennsylvania State University and has served within the nursing field for over seven years. Her passion for skin health and aesthetic medicine fueled her pursuit in specializing in Dermatology.

Jody is now offering BOTOX® Cosmetic, Cosmetic Consultations, and Microneedling at Signature Medical Spa, and will continue her mentorship under Dr. Bonnie Straka. She is also offering appointments for medical and surgical dermatology at Albemarle Dermatology Associates!

Biography: Master Aesthetician Linda Pitt leads the team of licensed aestheticians at Signature Medical Spa. She has worked under dermatologist Bonnie Straka, MD since before the inception of Signature Medical Spa, contributing her decades of extensive skin care experience to helping build our award-winning practice. Linda has a reputation for excellence and specializes in facial and body rejuvenation through advanced treatments including the use of lasers. Kelly has a reputation for excellence in makeup artistry and specializes in facial and body rejuvenation. Her repertoire of services includes Chemical Peels, Facials, Waxing, Eyelash Extensions, and Laser Hair Removal.

Kelly received her aesthetics license from the Steiner Institute of Aesthetics in 2013. She maintains her professional skills through in-house training with the dermatologists. She recently completed her certification to become a dermatology tech. She possesses deep skin care knowledge and a passion for results.

Biography: Kristy joined our practice in 2018 with over 12 years of aesthetic experience and many loyal clients. Her aesthetic training began in 2006 at the Paul Mitchell Academy in North Carolina. Kristy developed deep expertise in performing skin analysis consultations, microblading for eyebrows and eyelids, chemical peels, microdermabrasion, facials, dermaplaning, facial waxing, tinting, laser hair removal, skin tightening treatments, laser resurfacing, Intense Pulsed Light, and vascular treatments. She is gifted at determining how to achieve the best results for each individual in her care.

Outside of the medical spa, Kristy is a proud mother. She enjoy playing sports, being outdoors, and spending time with friends and family.

Position: Medical Assistant

Biography: Jill Costello is a Clinical Assistant and Body Contouring Specialist at Signature Medical Spa. She has been Doreen’s “right hand woman” and a dynamic member of the team since 2008.

Jill is originally from Florida and relocated to Charlottesville 19 years ago. She enjoys her job as a Clinical Assistant and especially appreciates interacting with our clients. Jill continues her education by attending CoolSculpting seminars, advanced training with the MD’s, and is currently attending college to become a nurse.

Jill is passionate about her job and her continuing her education. She loves to cook and spend time with her family.

Name: Rhonda Holmes

Position: Medical Assistant

Biography: Rhonda Holmes is a Clinical Assistant and Certified Dermatology Technician, working at both Signature Medical Spa and Albemarle Dermatology Associates.

Rhonda came to us in 2015 with over 17 years of cosmetic dermatology experience. Her energetic spirit and passion to learn new advancements has made her an asset to both the Spa and dermatology side of the practice. Her repertoire of services includes miraDry and Ultherapy.

Outside of her profession, Rhonda enjoys spending time with her husband and four children. She loves to cook, go camping, and enjoy the great outdoors!
