Liposuction is a surgical correction of body contours by removing fat deposits from problem areas.

Standard vacuum liposuction is a procedure in which the mechanical destruction of fat occurs (due to the forward swinging of the cannula) and it is sucked off with a vacuum pump.

Tumescent liposuction is a more popular form of liposuction, which involves pre-infiltration of the operated zone with a special Klein solution that maximizes cell damage and converts fat into a liquid emulsion for easier and safer aspiration of adipose tissue.

Syringe liposuction does not involve the use of vacuum suction, the operation is carried out manually with the help of special tools – syringes. Due to them, swelling and hematomas do not remain practical on the skin, and in the case of small-scale interventions, it is possible to use local anesthesia.

In my practice, I often use the methods of tumescent and syringe liposuction, since I consider them as delicate as possible.

Tumescent technique involves the use of a thin cannula, which makes the procedure for fat removal safer, reduces the risk of surgical bleeding and trauma to blood vessels and nerve fibers, and makes postoperative scars less visible.

Liposuction can be performed under general anesthesia, epidural or spinal anesthesia. With small amounts of operated sites and contraindications to general anesthesia, local anesthesia is used.

During the tumescent liposuction, local anesthesia is often sufficient in combination with the intravenous administration of sedatives.

Procedure

Before the liposuction, I inject into the problem area a clearly calculated amount of Klein solution, which includes adrenaline, lidocaine and saline solution.

Then, under the skin, through a small incision, a very thin cannula is inserted, connected to a special device that creates a negative pressure.

After the fat cells under the influence of the drug turn into a liquid emulsion, I pump out the fat by a traditional vacuum method.

Liposuction is a surgical procedure that does not help get rid of general obesity. Therefore, for patients with large body fat and excessive excess weight, I recommend that you first reduce body weight with diet and intensive physical exertion.

With standard vacuum liposuction, I initially perform several small incisions, and then injected into them cannulas (diameter 3-5 mm) I perform reciprocating movements that destroy fat cells. In this case, 0.52-0.79 gallon of fat can be pumped out in one procedure. In conclusion, I impose one suture on each puncture.

Recovery period

After the liposuction, the patient must stay in the clinic for a few days under medical supervision. Often, after the procedure in the aspiration zone, swelling and bruising appear, the sensitivity of the skin decreases, and discomfort occurs during movement and physical exertion.

Gradually, all negative manifestations go away and after 2-3 weeks the condition is completely normalized.

A month after liposuction is prescribed wearing compression underwear. During this period, I also recommend that my patients undergo a special course of physiotherapy, postpone the exercise, and exclude visits to saunas, baths and solarium.

After 3-6 months after the operation, the body gets clear contours, to maintain which it is necessary to adhere to diet and exercise.
