Liposuction in Abu Dhabi is an operation aimed at removing excess fat from fat stores. In our time, for any woman, appearance plays a crucial role. Our standard of living allows us not only to take care of our health, but also to strive for aesthetic perfection.
Today, even the most complex plastic surgeries are available to every person and it is not surprising that their number is growing rapidly every year not only among women but also among men.
Liposuction in Abu Dhabi is a surgical procedure, during which the fat deposits are removed from the skin using a vacuum.
This procedure is performed using a vacuum tube (cannula) with a rounded end. For the first time liposuction was performed by the Italian surgeon George Fisher.
His technique was very different from the modern one.
He used a hollow tube inside which was mounted a movable blade that destroyed adipose tissue, and through a special hose the fat was sucked from the body. Undoubtedly, such an operation was very traumatic, could be accompanied by significant blood loss, quite often there were hematomas, seromas and necrosis.
The result of this operation was very difficult to predict, the tissue was removed unevenly and the body relief could significantly differ from the planned one. This situation stimulated plastic surgeons to improve the technique, resulting in the 1977 Dr. Yves-Gerard Illouz’s first performed liposuction using a cannula with blunt tips.
This technique virtually eliminated the possibility of damage to the patient’s surrounding tissues, which made liposuction a much more popular procedure.
The next step in the development of liposuction was made by the American doctor Jeffrey Klein, who in 1985 first applied in practice infiltration of the operated site with a specially created solution, through which the blood vessels and nerve endings narrowed, which creates favorable conditions for the removal of adipose tissue.
The Klein solution contains saline, adrenaline and lidocaine. The introduced solution promotes the transformation of fat cells into a liquid emulsion, which is removed by vacuum. With the use of this technique, the risk of various complications has significantly decreased.
Types of liposuction
There are two groups of methods for removing subcutaneous fat: invasive methods – when fat is removed by puncturing in the skin and non-invasive – a method in which fat cells under some effect are destroyed and withdrawn through the circulatory or lymphatic system.
Invasive methods of liposuction:
1. Dry liposuction uses relatively thick cannulas that are attached to a vacuum aspirator. Punctures are made in the skin and fat cells are mechanically removed from the body.
2. Wet liposuction anesthetic solution is injected into the liposuction zone, resulting in fat deposits being softened, which facilitates the removal of fat.
3. Tumescent liposuction – a special solution is introduced into the aspiration zone, consisting of saline, lidocaine and adrenaline, which contributes to the dilution of adipose tissue, the narrowing of the blood vessels, and hence their damage as a result of the procedure.
Non-invasive methods of liposuction:
1. Ultrasonic liposuction is performed using a special device that uses ultrasound to process adipose tissue, as a result of which it is destroyed and discharged with blood.
The advantage of the method is that the body has no traces of surgical intervention, the fat tissue is evenly destroyed, the procedure is painless. However, this method of liposuction has a fairly large number of complications, such as: dehydration of tissues, skin, vessels, nerves can be damaged, internal organs (intestines, pancreas) can be damaged.
2. Radiofrequency liposuction – fat is destroyed by two electrodes applied to the problem area. However, the risk of vascular damage is high, tissue is burned, and the method has a negative effect on internal organs.
3. Chemical liposuction – fat is removed with the help of special drugs that are injected under the skin. Using this method, small areas can be corrected. The disadvantage of the method is that allergic reactions to the drug are possible, as well as repeated injections to correct large areas.
Indications and contraindications for liposuction in Abu Dhabi
Do not try to perform liposuction if you are overweight and you want to reduce it. Liposuction is not a way to lose weight and does not lead to weight loss. Liposuction is indicated for people with local fat deposits. Everyone knows the situation when fat deposits on the abdomen, chin, knees or thighs are not removed with weight loss.
Attempts to remove them by physical exercises often lead to the fact that the breast, waist, or other parts of the body lose weight. In such cases, liposuction gives a very good result.
Medical contraindications for liposuction are the same diseases that prevent the performance of any plastic surgery: severe diabetes mellitus, disorders in the blood clotting system, severe internal diseases, acute infectious diseases, or chronic in the acute stage.
Analyzes before liposuction
No specific tests are necessary before liposuction. Obligatory is the entire list of tests that are required for other plastic surgeries. In our clinic this list includes: a general blood test, a general urine test, a coagulogram (blood clotting), blood on RW (syphilis), ECG, fluorography. Test should be made no more than 2 weeks before the operation. In some clinics, studies on viral hepatitis and HIV are also required. These tests are performed more for the surgeon than for the patient.
HIV and viral hepatitis are not contraindications to plastic surgery, but there is a possibility of infection of medical personnel during the operation. If all safety rules are observed, intraoperative infection of the surgeon is very unlikely.
Complications after liposuction
Liposuction refers to the number of safe plastic operations, however, after its implementation, in rare cases, there may be some complications:
- Nasal congestion in places where fat is removed unevenly.
- Hematoma or seroma – a violation of outflow of blood or serous fluid.
- Necrosis of the skin in the area in which the operation was performed.
- Fat embolism (blockage) of small veins or arteries.
- Infection of the wound.
- Sensitivity disorder in the area of the postoperative wound. It is temporary and is restored in due course.
- Anemia – is possible with a large blood loss.
- Change in skin color.
- Sagging skin. Perhaps with a thin flabby skin with low turgor.
Undoubtedly, the absolute majority of liposuction is performed without any undesirable consequences. An experienced plastic surgeon if you have to deal with the complications mentioned above while performing the operation, it is extremely rare. At the time of surgery, patients should be healthy, as the fight against any complications will require the body of certain forces.
