­­­­­At 6 to 8 weeks post-revision, the healing/scarring
process is in a remodeling phase, which results ultimately in the flatter, fine
line scar most patients are familiar with.
It may be that as the scar has matured, it only appears widened. It is unlikely that silicone gel alone is
contributing to a widened scar. Ideally,
wait and be patient. The final
appearance of your scar may take between 6-12 months to develop.

Glycolic peels are a great start toward nonsurgical facial rejuvenation. These tend to be well tolerated, and require essentially no downtime. Topicals such as tretinoin (i.e. Retin A) may help as well. Unfortunately, they are somewhat limited in the degree of improvement they can provide.
