New Non Invasive Liposuction

Liposuction is no longer the traditional invasive method it used to be. No more traumatic suction of the solid fat that needed large cannulas. No more large cannulas that caused large incisions. No more large incisions that caused visible scars. No more massive bleeding or long recovery period.

New liposuction techniques changed for good the liposuction treatments, changing the approach to fat suctioning from traumatic to gentle.

This also led to safer intervention, as there are fewer traumas, and the possibility to operate in local anesthesia and in day hospital regime. How could that be possible? New liposuction relies on new technologies to perform safer yet still effective new treatments. Let’s see these technology-assisted new liposuction procedures:

Tumescent Liposuction – This is one of the first modifications made to the traditional liposuction that after the introduction of the tumescent technique (also called wet or super wet) is called dry liposuction.

Before the tumescent intervention the treated area is injected with lidocaine, epinephrine and a saline solution that have an anesthetic function so that pain is much less.

Laser lipolysis – The king of new technologies: when you think of future you think about laser. Laser, introduced through a tiny incision along with a small cannula (1 or 2 mm in diameter) below the skin, is able to liquefy fat that will eventually be sucked with soft suctioning power syringes as it’s easier to suck liquid fat than solid fat.

Power Assisted Liposuction (PAL) – What happens if we connect an vibrating device to a cannula? The cannula will be moving back and forth and therefore break the fat deposits. Fat will be then suctioned in an easier way. PAL is usually associated with the tumescent technique to make it more comfortable for the patient.

Water-Jet Assisted Liposuction (WAL) – Work similarly to PAL but uses water jets to break the adipocytes and liquefy fat.

But there’s more… You can have the same effect of a new liposuction without surgery. These techniques act from outside generally through handhelds or plates with different technologies applied directly on the targeted area.

There are no incisions or scars, it’s a totally superficial treatment. Let’s see the top two “new liposuction without surgery” procedures:

Cryolipolysis – This new liposuction technique consists in freezing the fat cells until their walls break, and release liquid fat that eventually will be flushed naturally by the body.

Ultrasound – The known physical phenomenon called cavitation is applied with a handheld to the skin creating microbubbles in the interstitial liquid below the derm that will implode breaking the walls of the fat cells, without damaging the surrounding tissues or organs.
