Types of liposculpture
Traditional (vacuum dry) surgical liposuction is rarely used, today more modern types are preferred – tumescent, ultrasound. Each technique is used for certain indications.
Ultrasonic liposuction is preferred for areas with thin or overstretched skin – such as the inner thighs and stomach. Tumescent liposuction has other advantages – it is not highly traumatic in connection with the use of thin cannulas and is applicable for any zones.
Often, liposuction is used as an auxiliary procedure in the performance of abdominoplasty, facelift and neck, correction of curvature of the legs.
The removed fat cells are not restored, therefore the expressed aesthetic effect of liposculpture is reached by means of one procedure.
Depending on the volume of the intervention, liposculpture is performed under local or general anesthesia.
With small amounts of fat removed, the operation is performed on an outpatient basis, with fat volumes exceeding 0.26 gallon or a large number of zones, hospitalization is required for one day. After the operation, the patient needs to wear special compression underwear for 2-4 weeks.
Body Lipofilling
Lipofilling deserves special attention. This is a procedure in which fat removed by liposuction is used to correct soft tissue abnormalities, curvature of the calves, increase the buttocks, improve the contours of the breast, and change the shape of the lips.
Lipofilling is considered one of the safest methods of rejuvenation. When using liposculpture in combination with lipofilling, the plastic surgeon works as a sculptor – removes the tissue in some zones and fills other zones with it. As a result, harmonious proportions of the patient’s body are formed, natural beauty is restored.
