Costa Rica Liposuction Prices

Liposuction in Costa Rica is commonly referred to as cosmetic surgery, which is aimed at reducing the volume and quantity of adipose tissue in a specific area of the body.

Especially popular today is the question of how to remove fat from the bottom of the abdomen, because it is very difficult to reduce the amount of adipose tissue in this part of the body with physical exercises and diets, and a beautiful, flat stomach is one of the criteria for an ideal body.

Liposuction – types and features of the method

Answering the question about what is liposuction, doctors emphasize that it is aimed at reducing the thickness of the fatty layer, rather than reducing body weight.

The main indication for the operation is the patient’s desire to adjust the contours of the body by removing fat in the waist, hips, abdomen, buttocks, knees or back.

It can not be considered as a method of treating obesity, because it does not affect the pathogenesis of the disease and does not allow the removal of a significant amount of subcutaneous fat, but it helps to obtain a pronounced visual effect of “losing weight”, which is difficult to achieve by other methods of body correction.

There are several types of abdominal liposuction – vacuum (or standard), tumescent, ultrasound, laser and radiofrequency, each of which has its own peculiarities and advantages. The method is based on destruction and removal of a part of fatty tissue through small cutaneous incisions, with scars on the skin not remaining (exceptions – individual reaction of the body to surgical intervention or complications, which are due to improperly selected technique of conducting the operation).

The amount of fat that can be removed at a time is determined by the specialists themselves on the basis of a preliminary examination of the patient, while the liposuction of the abdomen in men and women does not have any characteristic differences and passes in accordance with generally accepted standards.

Vacuum liposuction of the abdomen

The method of vacuum fat removal is the “gold” standard of liposuction. The method is based on the removal of subcutaneous fat with a long hollow needle (cannula), which the doctor enters under the skin of the patient through small incisions, and by performing reciprocating movements destroys the fat cells. Aspiration of fat produces a vacuum pump, so some experts compare the principle of the procedure with the work of the vacuum cleaner. The operation is under general anesthesia.

The advantage of the technique is the ability to remove a large amount of fat at a time, which can be estimated from reviews of patients and with photos taken before and after liposuction of the abdomen.

Disadvantages: high traumatism (cannula damages the blood and lymph vessels) and formation of coarse subcutaneous scars. A variant of the method is tumescent liposuction, which differs from the vacuum one in that a special solution of Kline (saline, lidocaine and adrenaline) is preliminarily injected into the operated zone, as a result of which the adipose tissue is emulsified (breaks up into separate constituents, triglycerides and fatty acids) and removes it it becomes easier.

The specialist injects the solution under the skin with ultrathin cannulae, after which scars do not remain, and aspiration is performed by a vacuum pump. The operation is performed under local anesthesia, which excludes the risk of side effects from anesthesia, the patient is conscious, but does not feel pain and discomfort , and for one procedure you can remove up to 2.5 kg of adipose tissue.

Ultrasonic liposuction in Costa Rica

Ultrasonic liposuction of the abdomen is a cosmetic operation aimed at removing fat from the abdominal area, during which the specialist pre-injects the Klein solution under the skin and then treats the fat tissue with an ultrasound dissector located at the end of the cannula.

Ultrasound selectively destroys adipocytes and does not injure the skin, which makes the method effective and maximally safe for the patient.

The dimensions of the punctures in the skin through which the cannula is inserted do not exceed two mm, so scars do not remain. Additionally, ultrasound has a positive effect on the skin, so after the operation the skin becomes smooth and elastic. One operation allows you to remove up to five liters of fat.

Minimally invasive techniques remove fat from the abdomen area.

To low-traumatic methods of reducing the volume of adipose tissue in the abdomen include laser and radiofrequency liposuction.

Laser liposuction

Laser liposuction is a method of laser lipolysis, which is based on the ability of laser radiation to freely penetrate into the subcutaneous fat and destroy adipocytes.

During the operation, the doctor treats the skin of the patient with a lipolaser that promotes the cleavage of adipose tissue, and then sucks out the products of its decomposition using an ultrathin canula with a diameter of 1 mm. General anesthesia is not required, so the patient is conscious.

The advantages of the method include its low traumatism (the laser beam allows the specialist to closely monitor the location of the cannula under the skin, which excludes the risk of damage to the vessels and surrounding tissues) and an additional rejuvenating effect (the laser causes a reduction in collagen and elastin fibers, which increases the elasticity of the skin). The disadvantage is a small amount of fat removal (up to 1 kg, so the procedure has to be repeated several times in a row).

Radiofrequency liposuction in Costa Rica

At the heart of the radiofrequency liposuction of the abdomen is the use of a high-tech electrosurgical device BodyTite, capable of converting alternating current into high-frequency.

Radiofrequency pulses easily destroy adipocytes, which helps to reduce the thickness of the fat layer and allows you to adjust the contours of the body.

The current is fed into the tissue by means of two electrodes, one of which is placed directly under the skin (in the thickness of the subcutaneous fat), and the second is applied externally directly opposite the first. The specialist moves the electrodes around the abdomen in a circular motion, controlling the depth of the impulse with the help of indicators that are displayed on the screen.

Aspiration of fat is made by vacuum method using a cannula with a small diameter. The radiofrequency method of fat removal practically does not cause side effects, but aspiration of destroyed adipocytes through a small diameter needle significantly increases the duration of the operation, therefore, with significant fat deposits in the abdomen, doctors recommend that patients pay attention to other methods of the body correction.

Estimated cost of the operation

To answer the question about how much is the liposuction of the abdomen, as accurately as possible, only a doctor after a preliminary examination of the patient. The price of the operation depends on the method of correction and the extent of the surgical intervention.

Estimated cost of liposuction of the abdomen is presented in the table (preliminary analyzes that must be submitted in order to determine contraindications to the operation, paid separately).

Which method to choose?

The choice of a specific method for carrying out the liposuction of the abdomen depends on the patient’s desire and the recommendations of the doctor of the plastic surgery clinic, because it is impossible to answer the question about which of the methods is better.

Before the surgery, the surgeon examines the patient, measures the thickness of the subcutaneous fat, determines the amount of fat that must be removed and selects the most effective correction technique.
